How to Check These General Contractors Before You Hire
This page lists 3 of the 103 general contractors with an active Washington registration and a business address in Seatac. A row here is a starting point, not a recommendation. Before you sign anything, run through these checks:
- Match the name and number. The business name on the bid, truck or contract should match the registered name and registration number shown in the table. A different name can mean a different, unregistered company.
- Check the expiry date. Registrations must be renewed, and rows highlighted here expire within 60 days. Ask for proof of renewal if the date falls during your project.
- Confirm the bond. Washington requires a $30,000 surety bond for general contractors and $15,000 for specialty contractors (RCW 18.27.040). The bond is limited, so it is not a substitute for a good contract.
- Confirm insurance. RCW 18.27.050 requires public liability and property damage insurance for registered construction contractors. Ask for a certificate naming your project address.
- Re-check the live record. Our copy is from Oct 30, 2026. Open the business profile above, then confirm the current status with Washington L&I on the day you hire.
Electrical work also falls under a separate L&I electrical licensing program (RCW 19.28), and plumbers need individual certificates of competency (RCW 18.106). A missing row does not prove a business is unregistered, because our pages only include registrations with a Seatac business address.
