About Verified Licensed – Independent Contractor License Directory

Verified Licensed is an independent directory that helps homeowners answer one question quickly: is this contractor licensed?

What We Do

We take official, public licensing data published by state agencies, starting with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, and present it in a fast, consistent format: status, expiry date, specialty, bond and insurance.

What We Do Not Do

We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with one.
We do not rate or review contractors, and we never publish fake ratings.
We do not publish the names of owners or principals.
We do not sell homeowners' data.

How We Make Money

Listings are free. Contractors will be able to pay for an optional featured placement, which is always labelled. Payment never changes the license data we show.

Coverage

Washington is live. More states are added after we review each state's data quality and terms of use; the process is described on our data sources and methodology page.
